Hi! I’m Richard, and Little Pengpeng is my independent, bootstrapped, software company. I’m going from the world of corporate consulting to building my own products, and I’ll write about it as I go here. Wish me luck!
The project I’m most excited about is building a historic F1 manager game. The main premise is simple: you’re a privateer, running your own virtual racing team through the glory days of motorsport, from 1960 to 2000. I want to honor the likes of Frank Williams, Ken Tyrell, Colin Chapman, Eddie Jordan, Lord Hesketh and the many other legendary team founders, and to capture the spirit of the various transformations the sport went through, along with the wild innovations that allowed small teams to punch above their weight.
I’ll write about the process, and decisions, that go into it, because to me at least it’s really interesting. Part of this is that I’ll build and use my own product management tool, based on the techniques I was using in the corporate world. This is my “sensible product”, which will be available for software teams and businesses to use, to support the “fun products”!
